Understand how much you need to pay under the subsidy scheme per kilowatt

  • Cost of 1 to 3 Kilowatt solar power plant: Rs.45000/-
  • Subsidy available in Jharkhand: 40% per Kilowatt
  • In 1 Kilowatt Subsidy amount would be 18000 and rest 27000 you have to pay from your Pocket
  • This is till 3Kilowatt Only

Now, If you want to install a 5KW Solar power plant

  • Then, Cost of 1 to 3 Kilowatt solar power plant: Rs.45000/- and Cost of 4 to 10 Kilowatt solar power plant: Rs.42000/-
  • Now 1-3 Kilowatt Solar power plant cost will be 45000, So for 5 kilowatts, we will consider 45000×3 = Rs.1,35,000/-
  • 40% Subsidy for 1-3Kilowatt, So for 135000×40% = Rs.54,000/-
  • Now 4-10 Kilowatt Solar power plant cost will be 42000, as we considering 5KW, So for rest, 2 Kilowatt cost would be 42000×2 = Rs.84,000/-
  • 20% Subsidy for 4-10 Kilowatt, So for 84000×20% = Rs.16,800/-
  • Total Cost of the solar plant for 5KW would be = 1, 35,000+84,000 =Rs.2,19,000/-
  • Subsidy amount for 5KW would be =54,000+16,800 =Rs.70,800/-
  • You have to pay from your pocket would be = Rs.2,19,000-70,800=Rs.1,48,200/-
  • Rs.1, 48,200/- is the final amount for 5KW which you have pay if you will go for the subsidy scheme.
  • Note: Price is subject to change

If you are getting a subsidy from the government, why should you install a solar power plant?

The regular Electricity supply in India is unreliable. Most cities in India do not have a regular electricity supply. Using a diesel generator is also a little expensive. Even if you have regular electricity but due to the rising cost of electricity bills you should plan to install a solar power plant.

The Jharkhand government is paying half of the cost so that consumers can install solar power plants in their homes. JREDA announce a 40 percent subsidy this year to the entire residential consumer.

Why is the government of India encouraging to the installation of a solar power plant?

Central and state governments are encouraging power generation through solar energy. The program to install the Rooftop Solar power Plant on buildings of institutional areas is being widely implemented in the state and the country. Now the residential user government is giving a 40% subsidy to the on-grid solar power plant.

The cost of thermal power production is high to provide subsidized rates to the consumer. Let say, if the power production cost is 25-30 Rupees/Unit but we are getting electricity at 4-7 rupees. Thermal power is expensive as compared to solar. This is why the government is offering subsidies on solar so that they can minimize the thermal load.

JREDA solar power plant subsidy scheme in 2018-2019 to the residential consumer

If you will install solar power plants through the Jharkhand government scheme you will also get 5 Year CMC totally free of cost. CMC (comprehensive maintenance contract) costs 2-5% of the total cost of the project.

Under the Jharkhand Government scheme by the JREDA, you will avail 1 KW of solar power plant project in just Rs.27150. The total cost would be 54300 where the consumer needs to pay only 27150 plus 5 year CMC included at the same cost. How to apply solar subsidy in Jharkhand? All the details are available below.
